18. Policyholder

A person who purchases a policy from CGIC. Do’s and don’ts for Policy holder:
Do's

• Pay premium by Cash/Cheque/Pay orders/Online payment modes;
• Insist for receipt of premium paid;
• Fill up the proposal form by yourself and give complete & factual information, false or misleading information may lead to dispute at the time of claim;
• Disclose all material facts viz. any disease suffered in the past, details of claims taken on the expiring policy;
• On receipt, verify policy details. In case of any discrepancy, report immediately to avoid any inconvenience;
• Provide updated address and contact number for correspondence;
• Buy policies from Licensed agents;
• Please report if Insurance Documents is not received within 15 days after the payment of premium.

Don'ts

• Don't pay Cash/Cheque/Pay orders/Online payment modes to any unauthorized person;
• Don't sign a blank proposal form;
• Don't provide false or misleading information;
• Don't leave any portion of the proposal form blank or unanswered;
• Don't share sensitive information viz. credit card, debit card, bank details etc over phone to the telephone caller;

By using this Site, you authorize us to contact you via email or phone on your contact details provided above and offer you information and services for the product you have opted for. You authorize us to call you for the mentioned purpose for a period as per prescribed by the policy.

28. Force majeure

In the event that City General Insurance Company Limited is prevented from performing or is unable to perform any of its obligations stated in the Terms of Use, due to any cause beyond its reasonable control, then its performance shall be excused and the time for performance shall be extended for the period of delay or inability to perform due to such occurrence.
